Caloundra · Local conditions

Caloundra is a salt-exposure job first.

Sites within a few streets of Kings Beach, Bulcock Beach and Golden Beach take constant salt-laden wind. It burns foliage, corrodes irrigation fittings and kills plantings chosen for an inland garden. Most of what looks like neglect on a Caloundra frontage is actually the wrong species in the wrong spot.

Exposure and burn

Salt burn shows first on new growth and windward faces. We prune out damage rather than leave it browning where residents and guests see it, and flag plantings that will never cope.

Older complexes

A lot of Caloundra strata stock predates modern landscaping. Beds are shallow, irrigation is patchy and edges have crept. It responds well, but it needs a plan rather than just a mow.

Holiday changeover

Golden Beach and Kings Beach carry heavy short-stay letting. Noisy works get scheduled away from checkout mornings so guests are not woken by a blower at seven.

Why local matters

Salt decides what survives here, not the plant label.

Working the same coastal strip fortnightly means we know which beds burn in a southerly, which irrigation fittings corrode first, and which species keep getting replaced because they were never going to survive that exposure.

That shows up as fewer replacement plantings, fewer resident complaints about a tired frontage, and a bed that still looks intentional in February.

Questions

Working in Caloundra.

Do you service Golden Beach and Kings Beach?

Yes, along with Currimundi, Moffat Beach, Dicky Beach, Battery Hill and Little Mountain. Caloundra is the southern end of our run.

Can you work around holiday letting?

Yes. Noisy works are scheduled away from changeover mornings and peak guest periods, agreed at mobilisation.

What about salt damage to existing plants?

We report it in writing with a photo and a likely cause, and quote replacement with species suited to the exposure rather than replanting the same thing.

Do you handle older body corporate complexes?

Frequently. Most need one catch-up visit to bring the site back to standard, quoted separately, before the normal cycle starts.

How far south do you go?

Caloundra and surrounds is our southern boundary. Beerwah and Glass House Mountains are serviced from the hinterland run.

Is your pricing fixed for the year?

Yes. Fixed monthly across 26 visits, reviewed annually with written notice so it can be budgeted at the AGM.
