Kawana · Local conditions
Kawana is mostly establishment work.
Birtinya and the surrounding estates are young. The landscaping went in recently, the plants have not filled out, and the beds are entirely dependent on irrigation that nobody checks until something dies. Maintenance here is about getting plantings to establish, not managing mature growth.
Establishment care
Young plantings need consistent mulch depth, weed pressure kept off, and formative pruning. Get the first two years right and the beds look deliberate for a decade.
Irrigation dependence
Sandy profiles drain fast. A broken head or blocked dripper kills a run of plants in a fortnight. We check and report at every visit and carry out minor repairs on the spot.
Hospital and health sites
Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the surrounding medical precinct expect documented contractors, site inductions and low-noise plant. All of which we already run.
What we do here
The scheduled cycle in Kawana.
Lawns and surfaces
- Mowing and edging of all areas
- Paths, driveways and car parks blown down
- Hard surfaces kept clear of weed growth
- Litter run and debris removed from site
Gardens and beds
- Beds kept weed free
- Mulch topped to depth
- Organic fertiliser twice yearly
- Pests and disease monitored and treated
Hedges and palms
- Hedges maintained to shape
- Shrubs pruned for growth and form
- Palms pruned, fronds cleared
- Trees shaped to a maximum of 3 metres
Why local matters
A blocked dripper costs more than a year of mowing.
On sandy Kawana profiles, plants sit at the edge of stress even in a normal summer. A single failed solenoid or blocked line will take out a bed before anyone notices, and replanting it costs multiples of the repair.
Checking irrigation and reporting faults in writing is part of every visit here, not an extra. It is the single highest-value thing a contractor can do on a young estate.
Questions
Working in Kawana.
Do you work at the health precinct?
Yes. We hold current insurance, a documented WHS management plan and task-specific SWMS, and complete site-specific inductions before mobilising.
Do you cover Birtinya and Bokarina?
Yes, along with Warana, Wurtulla, Buddina, Minyama and Parrearra.
Can you handle new estate handovers?
Yes. Handover establishment is a strong fit, and pricing is usually clearest when it is set before the defects period ends.
Do you repair irrigation?
Minor repairs during visits are included. Larger faults are reported in writing with a photo and quoted separately.
Is noise an issue near the hospital?
It is, which is why most of our plant is battery-powered. Noisy works are also scheduled outside sensitive hours where required.
How often should new plantings be serviced?
Fortnightly through the first two years, lifting to weekly over the summer growth flush on some sites.
Next step
Send us a Kawana site and we’ll quote it within 48 hours.
We inspect the site, price a scheduled scope against it, and send the quote with a sample photo log and our certificate of currency attached.
